All cyclists over 16 years old in Canterbury and East Kent are welcome to join, including members of other clubs. As a club we sometimes allow competent cyclists under 16 to ride with us, when accompanied by parent and signed parent consent form.

The cost is just £20/year and this enables you to gain reduced cycling insurance with British Cycling.

The club currently has over 125 members – both men and women.

Membership Terms & Privacy

When you become a member of or renew your membership with CBC you will be registered for an online account with British Cycling. We will provide British Cycling with your personal data which they will use to enable access to an online portal for you (called My Dashboard) on the British Cycling website. British Cycling will use your personal data in accordance with its Privacy Notice which can be accessed at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/staticcontent/info–Privacy-Policy-0.

British Cycling will contact you to invite you to sign into and update your dashboard (which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings). If you have any questions about the continuing privacy of your personal data when it is shared with British Cycling, please contact compliance@britishcycling.org.uk

As a club member, your information may be shared on the club website, social media pages or in emails sent by the club. This data will only be shared in the event that either you are a club volunteer, have participated in a race or challenge event or have recorded a major achievement. This data will be limited to your name, race results (if applicable) and details of your achievement. Limited further information about you may be included; for example, whether you have participated in an age category race or a women’s race.

 

To be added to the Map My Tracks club (members only)

Go to http://www.mapmytracks.com/teams/canterbury-bicycle-club and click ‘JOIN THIS CLUB’.

You will then be able to add your rides to the official club app, powered by Map My Tracks, and see your rides on the app’s leaderboard.

 

To be added to the Strava Group (members only)

Go to https://www.strava.com/clubs/CBC1877 and click ‘JOIN CLUB’.

You will then be able to view the rides of others in the group and take part in the Strava Segment of the month competition.

 

To be added to the club’s Facebook Group

The club facebook forum  – ‘CBC Riders forum’ is open to members and friends. Members can post information and photos of interest to CBC Riders.
